Students living in far off places had to travel long distances just to register, stood in queues for up to 3 hours and the registration process ended up taking longer than expected as all 5000 registrations had to be manually entered into the system by registration staff.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-css-wzjwh\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-sanbv\" data-uniq-id=\"iojot\"><span class=\"brz-cp-color7\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-css-yeogp\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-kznwc\" data-uniq-id=\"kabwt\"><span class=\"brz-cp-color8\" style=\"opacity: 0.71\">Therefore, there was a need to create a simple solution which would improve the registration experience and also improve registration processing efficiency.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"brz-css-tfbcv\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-tifjp\" data-uniq-id=\"tqwgc\"><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"brz-css-dkbfe brz-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"brz-rich-text brz-rich-text__custom brz-css-eubtl\" data-custom-id=\"qadmqhoovorhojrnvwxrszrwoozmrpegtbue\">\n<div>\n<h4 class=\"brz-css-cizsk\" data-uniq-id=\"yeubf\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-uvjfg\"><span style=\"opacity: 0.71\" class=\"brz-cp-color8\">The Process<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 class=\"brz-css-jhtys\" data-uniq-id=\"yeubf\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-uvjfg\"><span style=\"opacity: 0.71\" class=\"brz-cp-color8\"> <\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 class=\"brz-css-askju\" data-uniq-id=\"yloeu\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-mfsvq\"><span style=\"opacity: 0.7\" class=\"brz-cp-color8\">The Xavier Africa team worked together with the BAC team to create a solution that would be accessible to students. Initially, the firm decided to create a web application that would allow students to register online \u2013 however the high local mobile data costs would make it difficult for students to access these platform.<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 class=\"brz-css-dhfni\" data-uniq-id=\"oveif\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-cfibp\"><span style=\"opacity: 0.7\" class=\"brz-cp-color8\"> <\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 class=\"brz-css-dppqx\" data-uniq-id=\"gagaf\" data-generated-css=\"brz-css-xbrev\"><span style=\"opacity: 0.7\" class=\"brz-cp-color8\">Therefore, the team ended up deciding on a conversational AI solution integrated to Facebook Messenger &amp; WhatsApp (the data bundles for these two applications are the cheapest in the market) and then integrate the solution to BAC\u2019s current registration system.
